Join Jamie Sargent for a practical webinar on making your charity’s website easier to use. Jamie leads MyWeb Access, MyVision Oxfordshire’s digital accessibility service, and supports disabled people using assistive technology.

Building on members’ sight loss expertise, we will explore access needs beyond vision, with input from disabled user testers. A worked example and simple webpage and PDF checks will help you spot barriers and choose useful improvements. No technical knowledge is needed.

What we will explore

The session will be 45 minutes of practical content, followed by 15 minutes for questions and discussion.

1. Follow one online journey. Follow a task such as finding services, requesting support or donating on our prepared demonstration website. See two barriers, their impact and what an improvement could look like.
2. See what different checks reveal. Explore access needs beyond sight loss, informed by disabled user testers. Try keyboard, enlargement, webpage and PDF checks, and compare technical findings with people’s experiences.
3. Choose a useful next step. Keep a task from your organisation in mind. Identify a concern, decide what to investigate or improve, and work out which colleagues or suppliers to involve.
