Following feedback from members about the need for more training opportunities, we are developing a programme of paid for online sessions designed to respond directly to the challenges and priorities you identify. Our first session in this new format will focus on managing difficult online conversations:

This interactive workshop, led by Fran Borg-Wheeler, will equip facilitators, team leaders and managers with responsibility for chairing or facilitating virtual meetings, forums and service user groups, with practical communication strategies to navigate challenging conversations and situations confidently and skillfully.

  2. Managing disclosures during an online group
  3. Diversion strategies and techniques to get things back on track.

Through exercises and scenario discussions we will explore tools to spot and de-escalate conflicts, tame dominant voices and include quieter ones, managing disclosures and getting a meeting back on track. You will leave the session feeling better able to communicate effectively under pressure in virtual settings; understanding yours and others’ emotional triggers and creating positive outcomes even in the most challenging moments.

About Fran: Fran is a leadership development expert specializing in challenging conversations and organisational change. With 13 years of experience as a small charity CEO and five years as a leadership coach, she has developed a robust portfolio of training and mentoring for nonprofit leaders.
