RNIB Freedom of Information Request – Vision Rehabilitation in England
Monday 18 November 2024
11:00 am to 11:30am
Zoom
Many Visionary members will recall that the RNIB carried out a Freedom of Information (FOI) request last year. In advance of that happening, we emailed all members who have told us they deliver rehab to give advance notice of this happening. RNIB are conducting a further FOI request in early December, and we are again communicating with Visionary members to highlight this. We have already emailed the member organisations who have indicated they provide or have an interest in rehab /hab.
The purpose of RNIB making the FOI request is to better understand vision rehabilitation provision, across all English Local Authorities. This information will be used to update the statistics within RNIB’s Out of Sight campaign, which calls on the UK Government to introduce practical steps to make sure there is country wide oversight of vision rehabilitation services.
Questions will follow a similar pattern to those asked last year and will be sent by RNIB to Local Authorities in early December 2024. RNIB appreciates some Visionary members may have questions regarding this and they would be happy to discuss this further during this session. In addition, you can email Hannah Donnelly with your questions.
