In this session, Julia Nwaneke from Russell Cooke will provide an overview of recent developments in data protection law and regulation, including the new soft opt-in rules for charities, changes to the way organisations are required to handle data protection complaints, and practical considerations regarding the use of AI tools.
The session will focus on the implications of these developments for charities and the steps organisations can take to manage compliance risks in practice.
About Julia Nwaneke
Julia Nwaneke is an Associate in the Charity Law and Not for Profit team at Russell-Cooke. She advises charities and not-for-profit organisations on a broad range of data protection and employment law matters, helping third sector organisations navigate legal and regulatory requirements. Julia has particular experience advising charities on UK GDPR compliance, privacy policies, international data transfers and subject access requests. Alongside her data protection work, she advises on a wide range of employment law issues.
