Make it Matter: Supporting Blind and Partially Sighted Mums

Thursday 21 April 2022
1:00 pm to 2:00pm
Zoom

Meeting registration

In this session, we will hear from two mums, Rachel and Hetal, who will share their lived experiences of having and raising children as blind women, and how sight loss charities can support those in similar positions.

Rachel is mum to her ten-year old son, and stepped back from full-time work six years ago whilst losing her sight. She now works on an ad hoc basis as an audio description script reviewing and campaigner. Hetal has ROP (retinopathy of prematurity) with no useful sight, and has three children aged nine, five and two, all of whom are fully sighted. She works whilst raising her children, and her husband is also blind.

There will be an opportunity for questions and discussions. Questions can also be submitted before the session by email to Lucy.
