Visionary Trustee Professor Shahina Pardhan OBE receives Muslim News Award for Excellence

Many congratulations to our very own Visionary Trustee, Professor Shahina Pardhan OBE, who has added to her awards the Ibn Sinha award for Excellence in Health at the Muslim News Award for Excellence.
The 21st Muslim News Awards for Excellence were held on 14 July 2025 in Central London. The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of British Muslims in areas including arts, humanitarian work, education, health, media, sport and interfaith leadership. Muslim News state the winners have each “made a lasting impact through their contributions, reflecting the core values of integrity, service, and resilience that continue to shape and enrich British society.”
Professor Pardhan is Director of Vision and Eye Research Institute (VERI) at Anglia Ruskin University and was appointed as the first female Professor of Optometry in the UK in 2001. This year, she was included in the King’s New Year’s honours list in recognition for her services to optometry and preventing blindness.
