Physical Activity Forum 2025-2026

Wednesday 3 September 2025
10:30 am to 11:30am
Zoom

Meeting Registration

This quarterly forum is to support the development of local provision and to share and explore ideas for enhancing physical activity opportunities. We know the positive impact that even small amounts of physical activity can have on a person’s life.

We aim to develop sessions based on trends and new opportunities. We will also showcase different sports and activities available to blind and partially sighted people.

On 4 March 2026, we are delighted to be joined by special guest speakers Daniel Griffiths from Seable Holidays in the first part of the forum and in second part of the forum, Janiece Wallace and Matt Elkington from LTA, National Tennis Centre. They have shared some thoughts in advance to the session below.

Daniel said, “Seable is an award-winning social enterprise and the UK’s only tour operator to provide trained local sighted guides on every trip. We specialise in accessible, tailored, and group holidays designed specifically for the visually impaired community. By combining bespoke activities with expert support, we bridge the “confidence gap,” empowering our guests to explore the world with independence and peace of mind. At Seable, we don’t just book holidays; we create inclusive, stress-free adventures that turn every destination into a sensory and unforgettable experience.

Feel the excitement of the seemingly impossible. As one visually impaired member of the Seable team remarked: ‘As a visually impaired person working for Seable holidays I attended this year’s ski trip as a customer and experienced the benefits of all it had to offer and the sense of something I genuinely thought may not be possible since my sight had deteriorated.’

This adventure was more than just a fun trip; it was designed to boost stamina, remove personal barriers, and provide the exhilaration that comes from physical activity. Beyond the physical gains, it offered a valuable opportunity to forge new friendships, exchange inspiring stories, and learn about various sports and activities, allowing participants to discover the profound benefits and lasting impact these shared experiences have had on their lives.”

Janiece and Matt said, “A welcome to VI Tennis where we will talk through the rules, adaptations and equipment needed to play VI Tennis. We will also talk through how people can get involved in tennis local to you”.
