Visionary Annual Awards 2025
The Visionary Annual Awards celebrate the talent, expertise, and life-changing work of our members and partners. We love putting the spotlight on the incredible difference you’re making in local communities. You can submit multiple nominations, but each project or initiative can only be entered into one category. Read this year’s award categories below and to find out where your work fits best.
With thanks to Fight for Sight, Guide Dogs UK, RNIB and Specsavers we are delighted to announce that the winning nominations will each receive:
- £550 prize;
- a trophy;
- branded electronic “Winner” icon.
Nominations are shortlisted by representatives from previous award-winning organisations, sponsors and the Visionary team. Winners are chosen by Visionary member and partner vote and will be announced at our Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday 24 September 2025.

Accelerating Impact Award
Sponsor: Fight for Sight
The Accelerating Impact Award, sponsored by Fight for Sight, recognises organisations that build capacity, develop sustainable models, and create blueprints that accelerate sector-wide progress. We welcome nominations that evidence a strengthening of service delivery infrastructure from Visionary members. We also welcome nominations from national organisations who are working in partnership with local Visionary members.
We want to hear how you are building capacity and welcome entries which demonstrate initiatives that establish lasting foundations for organisational impact. This may be through innovative funding models, sharing knowledge, or collaborative approaches which maximise the positive impact for blind and partially sighted people in local communities.
Eligibility:
- Visionary member organisations.
- National partner organisations where working in partnership with local organisations to improve local service provision.

Community Partnership Award
Sponsor: Specsavers
This award, which is open to Visionary member and partner organisations, highlights the amazing work taking place across communities to improve eye health awareness and outcomes for local people.
We welcome nominations from organisations that demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
- Community Engagement – how you have encouraged members of your community to get on board with eye health
- Strategic Partnership – how you engaged with eye care commissioning/funding bodies and NHS Trusts to get eye health on their agenda.
- Co-design and Collaboration – how you have co-developed and designed programmes or projects with blind and partially sighted people to promote eye health.
Visionary members and partners are invited to share their work and stories. We particularly welcome entries which showcase how local organisations have worked in partnership with local opticians to engage with the community. All shortlisted nominees will be invited to share their work with the Visionary network through our online programme.

Community Pathways Award
Sponsored by: RNIB
This award celebrates bold and imaginative approaches to building meaningful connections with blind and partially sighted people, or those at risk of sight loss. We are looking to shine a light on Visionary members and partners who have stepped beyond the familiar and found new ways to reach people and communities they hadn’t connected with before. Whether through cross-sector partnerships, creative use of digital platforms, co-designed community initiatives, or other innovative collaborations, this award honours those who have expanded their reach and deepened their impact.
If you’ve worked with new allies, broken down barriers, or opened up new spaces for engagement and support, we want to hear your story. This is your chance to showcase how working together can transform lives.

- National partner organisations where working in partnership with local organisations to improve local service provision.

Customer Excellence Award

The Customer Excellence Award, Sponsored by Guide Dogs UK, celebrates outstanding dedication to service, support and care within the Visionary network. This award invited nominations which showcase the exceptional commitment of Visionary members to meeting client needs, creating accessible experiences, and delivering support with empathy and professionalism.
Visionary members are invited to share the submissions which highlight, new standards of customer service excellence, innovative approaches or an embedded service. This may include personalised support, communication, co-creation of projects and services or creating welcoming environments. Tell us how you understand and address the needs of blind and partially sighted people in your local community.
