Visionary Trustees

Closing date: Wednesday 15 March 2023
Salary: Voluntary role

Come and join our Board of Trustees!

In addition to looking for people with lived experience of visual impairment, our recent skills audit identified that we need trustees with experience and knowledge of financial management, income generation, entrepreneurship, and innovation. As we are a UK wide organisation, we want to ensure all countries are represented on our board – at the moment, we are actively seeking at least one trustee who has knowledge and understanding of Scottish issues.  All Visionary trustees are expected to have a good understanding of what good and effective governance is.  We know that our board is underrepresented by women, young people, and people from the LGBTQI+ and BAME communities and we want to change that.

Being a Visionary trustee is a voluntary role, however we do pay all reasonable costs incurred as part of the role.  We need you to actively participate in four board meetings each year (3 online, one face to face).  We want you to be involved with our strategic development and we estimate this will take about 20 hours of your time each year in addition to the meetings.

To find out more about becoming a Visionary trustee, please email our CEO, Fiona Sandford, and briefly outline why you are interested and what skills you would bring to our board.
