Suffolk Sight is a local, community-based sight loss charity supporting children and adults of all ages. We work hard to provide services that are friendly and practical, and to raise awareness of the different aspects of living with sight loss.

We are seeking a Community Worker to join our team.

The role plays a key part in the charity, supporting beneficiaries to ensure they have access to appropriate advice, information, equipment, and support to help them live independently, and its main areas of focus are:

  • Conducting assessments across Suffolk in the community and within Suffolk Sight offices/resource centres for the visually-impaired members of Suffolk Sight, identifying their needs and requirements to help define solutions that enable members to maintain a socially-inclusive and independent lifestyle.
  • Supporting people living with sight loss by providing up-to-date information, advice and guidance
  • Providing training to other members of staff and volunteers, along with formal awareness training to organisations in the private and public sector.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a positive and outgoing attitude and experience of guiding and supporting others.

If you want to work in an atmosphere of mutual support and cooperation, within a happy and supportive environment with a flexible employer then please apply.
