Closing date: Monday 28 November 2022
Location: Derby, DE1 1UR
Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: £8,377 per annum
Contract: Part-Time
Interview date: Thursday 1 December 2022

The Project Worker will work with visually impaired people to develop a programme of social and leisure activities.  This will include using local community venues such as cafes, community rooms, and to organise visits to places of interest.  You will also support small groups of people to ‘meet’ either online or over the phone, helping those who cannot get out and about so easily.

Part of the operational team based in Derby and reporting to the Operational Services Manager, you will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that services run smoothly and deliver the required outcomes.

It is essential that you are a real ‘people person’ and can show compassion and understanding alongside a common-sense approach to your work.  Whilst it is desirable that you have experience in working with visually impaired people, it is not essential, as full training will be provided – you will need to be able and willing to travel around the county.

This project has been made possible by a grant from Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
