Sight Loss Advisor Internship

Beacon are delighted to offer an exciting internship opportunity for a blind or partially sighted person to join our Sight Loss Advice team.
Over the course of a nine-month placement we’ll give you the chance to make a difference, learning how to support people with advice, information and guidance that could change their life.
In return, through your lived experience, you’ll support us to do even more, helping us to identify new ways we can engage with people and any gaps in our provision. You’ll be working within our Sight Loss Advisory team which is the first line of support for those approaching Beacon and provide a range of support and programmes for people impacted by sight loss.
You will learn about the role of a Sight Loss Advisor and once we’ve developed your skills and confidence, you’ll be able to directly support our beneficiaries. You’ll also gain valuable experience working with a leading health and social care charity and we’ll enable you to learn more about how our organisation operates with the chance to spend time in other departments.
You don’t need previous experience, but you do need to demonstrate a passion for the role and a commitment to your personal development.
