About Us

Cam Sight is a Cambridgeshire charity dedicated to supporting local people of all ages living with low vision and blindness.

We offer a broad range of services including information, advice and advocacy; practical and emotional support; leisure and sports activities, equipment and technology to enhance independence, wellbeing and inclusion.

The Role

In this exciting role, reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will contribute to our front-line work with people experiencing visual impairment in the community.

Working across Cambridgeshire, you will work with visually impaired people through a combination of one-to-one home visits, and peer support groups. Operating out of our Cambridge office, you will drive our mobile unit, a purpose-built vehicle carrying a range of low vision items and equipment, and information about our services.

Working closely with the Low Vision Equipment and Technology Lead and Outreach Workers you will demonstrate low vision items, equipment, and technology to enable visually impaired people to gain their independence. You will support our fundraising and promotions activities by attending fairs and events and support activities.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and outgoing individual who communicates well and thrives on building relationships.

You will need to be flexible and responsive, and able to manage your own workload.

Knowledge of low vision and blindness, and low vision items and equipment are desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

It goes without saying that you will need a full, valid driving license or access to transport via a support worker.
