TAVIP (the Technology Association of Visually Impaired People) is a member-led charity which provides direct support, and works strategically with partners across the sight loss sector, to ensure that visually impaired people have the specialist support that they need to use technology at home, at work and in education. We also tackle barriers that can cause digital exclusion in society.

Our 470 members help run regular Masterclass and discussion sessions online, host an email discussion list, run an annual technology conference, and provide one to one training sessions for people wanting to improve their use of technology for work or education.

At this exciting time in the charity’s development, we are seeking a new Chair of Trustees who can work with our CEO, other trustees and our members to further develop our services and partnerships, and to maximise our impact.

You are likely to have a good understanding of assistive technology, either as a user yourself, or as someone working within the sector, and ideally you will have a good understanding of what is involved in running a small charity.

To arrange an informal conversation with our CEO Julian Garner, or current Chair Clare Burgess, please email us at info@tavip.org.uk and here is a link to further information on the recruitment for a chair of trustees.
