Activities Assistant and Driver

Closing date: Friday 15 January 2021
Hours: to be agreed
Salary: £10.40 per hour

The Activities Assistant and Driver is a fun and sociable role. It involves transporting visually impaired people in one of Berkshire Vision’s minibuses (and/or your own vehicle), usually from their homes to one of the organisation’s activities.  You will actively participate in their varied programme of events and activities. Examples include walks, picnics, coffee mornings, workshops, golf and tennis.  The role includes the driving of their minibus, carrying out vehicle checks and maintaining the internal cleanliness of the vehicles.  The post holder must hold a full driving licence with D1 entitlement to drive a minibus. If you passed your driving test before 1997 in the UK, you will very likely automatically have a D1 entitlement on your license. If you are unsure whether you have this, please get in touch with Berkshire Vision.

Previous experience of public transport services and supporting people is desirable but by no means essential. You should be a sociable, enthusiastic individual who loves working with people.

This role is flexible as Berkshire Vision have a variety of shifts available and are happy to work with you to agree shifts which suit you.

The successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS disclosure with barred list checks (funded by Berkshire Vision).

To apply please email your CV and cover letter to recruitment@berkshirevision.org.uk
