Vision Support Barrow & District (VSBD), a charity which supports people with vision impairments across South West Cumbria, are thrilled to share they’re joining festivities at Dave Day 2025.
On Sunday 22nd June, VSBD will be joining other charities, not-for-profits, and community groups as part of the Health & Wellbeing Festival. As part of the day the sight loss charity will be showcasing the support they offer to local blind and partially sighted people both at their Vision Support Centre and their care home Ostley House.

They’ll also be bringing a hive of activity and fun with them including various activities like glitter tattoos, a guess the bear name game, biker bandana decorating, sweet cones for sale, and a tombola with lots of prizes to be won.
Craig Renton, Chief Executive Officer at VSBD“We are privileged to be able to play our small part in the celebration of Dave Myers and in particular to recognise his contributions to the area and support for causes such as our own.”
Dave Day is returning after its inaugural year which saw over 46,000 motorcyclists ride into Dave’s hometown of Barrow-in-Furness in memory of the late Hairy Biker.
Mr Renton“Vision Support Barrow & District is committed to supporting those living with vision impairments, and their families, as they navigate the challenges of everyday life. Through our care home Ostley House, on Abbey Road, we look to support not only those living with sight loss but also those with dementia who require specialised care and support. At VSBD we see differently and we care differently.”
VSBD currently supports over 900 people with vision impairments across South West Cumbria and they’re eager to reach more.
Mr Renton“As our CEO, my ambition is to expand our reach and impact, ensuring that everyone in need of our services, wherever they are in South West Cumbria, knows how to access them and feels supported every step of the way.”
VSBD are looking forward to having a Dave Day filled with fun, and look forward to seeing you there.
The Health & Wellbeing Day is being hosted at Barrow Park on Sunday 22nd June from 10am to 4pm. The festival is sponsored by Barrow Rising.
