British Blind Sport (BBS) is hosting a free sports taster day in Liverpool for people with sight loss. The event will be held on Saturday 8 October 2022 from 10am to 3pm at Netherton Leisure Centre, Glovers Ln, Netherton, Bootle, Liverpool, L30 3TL. BBS invites blind and partially sighted people of all ages and abilities, as well as their families, to experience as rugby, football, boccia, baseball, goalball and more in a welcoming environment.

BBS Have a Go Days have been held successfully across the country since 2016. The event will give blind and partially sighted people in Liverpool and the surrounding area the opportunity to try adapted sports and learn about inclusive opportunities that they can continue to enjoy and participate in after the event.

Philippa Bass, Participation Officer at British Blind Sport said, “We are delighted to be hosting a Have a Go Day in Liverpool to give blind and partially sighted people a chance to try out different sports. We encourage everyone, no matter their previous experience in sport, to come along, make new friends and discover inclusive activities in their community!”

BBS is also running First Steps Family Days alongside our Have a Go Days. First Steps is a national project, funded by Children in Need, that helps young people with sight loss get more active by improving their motor skills and building confidence in their abilities. Family Days allow young people with sight loss from aged 3-11yrs to try out locally available sports and meet other young people with sight loss. Young people taking part will be welcomed into an introductory session and then join in the wider activities available at each Have a Go Day. For more information on Family Days, please email firststeps@britishblindsport.org.uk or call 01926 424247.

Registration is open. The registration form is available on the BBS website.
