Register for British Blind Sport’s Have a Go Day in Hull!
Registration for British Blind Sport’s Hull ‘Have a Go Day’ is open. British Blind Sport is collaborating with Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire to provide an inclusive multi-sports event for individuals and families living with sight loss. The FREE event will be held Saturday 7th August 2021 at St Mary’s College. The sport sessions will be delivered alongside inclusive coaches and local activity providers. We invite blind and partially sighted people of all ages, as well as their families, to have a go and participate in the day. The event will provide a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment for blind and partially sighted people to try a variety of activities such as football, goalball, tennis, boccia and more.
British Blind Sport Have a Go Days have been running successfully for 5 years all across the UK, giving children and adults living with sight loss the chance to try inclusive and adapted sports. The event will provide an opportunity for blind and partially sighted people in East Yorkshire and the surrounding area to return to in-person physical activity and discover new sporting opportunities.
Alaina MacGregor, CEO of British Blind Sport said, “We are pleased to announce our plans to relaunch our Have a Go and family day events across England. Our team has been working hard to provide guidance and implement COVID safe measures to assist blind and partially sighted people to return to sport and physical activity. In addition to providing a friendly and safe environment for volunteers and participants to try out various sports, we hope that our Have a Go Days will strengthen local VI clubs membership and broaden the sport’s entry-level participation. The events have always been extremely popular, and so we encourage anyone who wants to attend to register their interest!”
St Mary’s College is located, Cranbrook Ave, Hull, HU6 7TN. Online registration is required prior to the event. The form is available on the British Blind Sport website.

Notes to Editors
Based in Leamington Spa, British Blind Sport is the national disability sport organisation that represents visually impaired people in sport across the UK. The charity helps blind and partially sighted people get active and play sport. Sport and recreational activities can enhance the lives of people with visual impairments, by improving their health and increasing their social interaction. We encourage adults and children to participate in activities at all levels, from grassroots to the Paralympic Games.
