A National Patient Safety Alert has been issued on 1 February 2023 in connection with a specific type of intraocular lenses fitted during cataract surgery – the ‘preloaded EyeCee One / EyeCee One Crystal Intraocular monofocal lens’.

There is some concern that an increased pressure in the eye has been found in a small number of patients who have received these lenses in the last few months.

Further details can be found on the Gov.UK website.

Kindly note:

  • The Alert relates only to patients who have had these specific lenses fitted since 1st October 2022.
  • All patients affected will be contacted directly by their relevant healthcare team and will be advised on how to make arrangements for their eye pressure to be measured as soon as possible.

Ends.
