Gateshead Have a Go Day: Join British Blind Sport for their first multi-sport event of the year!
British Blind Sport (BBS) is partnering with Lowes and Gateshead Council to host an inclusive sports Have a Go Day. The free event will take place on Sunday 13th March 2022, from 10am to 3pm at Gateshead College Academy for Sport, Neilson Rd, Gateshead, NE10 0EF. The event is open to blind and partially sighted people of all ages, as well as their families, and offers a relaxed and supportive environment in which attendees can try a variety of activities such as goalball, cricket, football, athletics, tennis, and more.
BBS Have a Go Days are multi-sport taster events that have been held successfully across the country since 2016, encouraging blind and partially sighted people of all abilities to become more active. The event will give blind and partially sighted people in Gateshead and the surrounding area the opportunity to try adapted sports and learn about inclusive opportunities that they can continue to enjoy and participate in after the event.
Philippa Bass, Participation Officer at BBS said,
“We are very excited to be heading to Gateshead to launch our Have a Go Day programme. The events are a fantastic way to meet new people, get more active, or try something new with help from qualified and experienced activity providers. BBS welcomes all participants, regardless of their previous athletic experience. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!”
Registration is open. The registration form is available on the BBS website.
