A gripping new audio drama that examines the subtle and insidious effect of domestic abuse on the blind and visually impaired (VI) community, using empathy, hope and candour to raise awareness of this important subject.  Launching during NO MORE week on 4th March 2024 which raises awareness on Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence and inspires individuals, organisations and communities to make change.

Unseen has been devised and led by a VI and disabled creative team, is directed by Ben Wilson, Extant’s current Trainee Artistic Director, and features a cameo appearance from Extant’s Artistic Director, Maria Oshodi. The work is a creative response to the Unseen Report by the Vision Foundation, which highlights the inaccessibility of domestic abuse services to visually impaired people, despite the fact that disabled people are nearly three times more likely to experience domestic abuse than non-disabled people.

  • Unseen will be available to stream for free from 4th March 2024 – Unseen – Extant.
  • Running time: 45 minutes
  • Age recommendation: 14+

Content Warning: This audio drama contains themes of domestic abuse, violence, and trauma.
