Call for Video Case Studies of Visually Impaired Assistive Technology Users
Vision Partnership’s Access to Technology Group are devising a training programme for Habilitation and Rehabilitation Specialists.
The programme aims to introduce assistive technology, demonstrate basic screen reader and magnification functions, highlight useful apps and raise awareness of potential safeguarding and privacy issues.
It is hoped that the outcome will be that Habilitation and Rehabilitation Specialists feel more comfortable answering basic assistive technology questions, are more empowered to assist with initial assistive technology setup and orientation, and are more aware of organisations which can provide further support.
A pilot, spread over four online sessions is due to take place during 2026. Further information will be made available in the coming months.
Testimonials and case studies required
As part of the pilot, the group would like to share video testimonials and case studies showing the variety of assistive technology available and how visually impaired people are using it in their daily lives. They hope to feature a variety of age groups, ethnic backgrounds, levels of visual impairment and types of assistive technology.
If you have service users in your organisation who enjoy being filmed, and you would be happy to record a short video of them talking about how they use assistive technology, please click here to email Raquel Garrido-Soriano at Visionary.
The group would appreciate receiving all case studies by Friday 30 January 2026.
Thank you in advance for your support!
