Training Workshop on The Children and Young People’s Sight Loss MOT

Thursday 10 February 2022
10:00 am to 1:00pm

Please note: This session is now fully booked.

The Children and Young People’s Sight Loss MOT is an assessment and outcome framework. It brings together Devon in Sight’s experience of developing the Sight Loss MOT for adults, the specialist knowledge of Moorvision in supporting children, young people and their families, as well as input from other experts in the sector.

Following on from it’s launch at the Visionary Conference, Devon in Sight and Moorvision will be running a free training event on Thursday 10 February 2022, on zoom, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, for organisations interested in helping to pilot the framework.

You may already be supporting children and young people but feel that the Sight Loss MOT could help improve the way in which you record and report on the impact you are making, or you may want to use this as an opportunity to develop a new service to support this age group.

We will be inviting a number of professionals that provide support to children and young people to talk about their work and highlighting how it differs from adult services. We will also be looking at the practicalities of using the Sight Loss MOT approach including tips for carrying out assessments, how to use the traffic light system and how outcome data can be recorded in a client database. We will share initial feedback from families that have used the framework, and there will also be an opportunity to discuss what further training and support you might need as an organisation to get up and running.

You’re welcome to send up to two people from your organisation and we will limit the number attending this initial training event to about 20 people.

If you would like a copy of the Children and Young people’s Sight Loss MOT document, or if you have any general enquiries about the framework, please contact enquiries@devoninsight.org.uk or info@moorvision.org.

Please note: This session is now fully booked.
