Support 4 Employment, the Essex Vision

In 2018, Support 4 Sight successfully secured funding from the Big Lottery to provide employment support for blind and partially sighted (BPS) people in Essex over 5 years. The project, Support 4 Employment, launched in 2019 and aims to offer BPS people information, advice and guidance on all aspects of employment, including job seeking, retention and self-employment advice, in a client centred way. The project has another 2.5 years to go and already over 200 people have benefited from the support.
This session will explore how the project was set up, the issues and barriers the team faced (including COVID restrictions) and hints/ tips for setting up similar projects in your area.
