Join us for an online session on Tuesday 17 October 2023, 10am to 11.00am, where RNIB will be launching their newest piece of research ‘Outlooks: living with sight loss (2022)’ made possible by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, with funds awarded by the Postcode Care Trust.

The research aims to provide a regular assessment of the quality of life (a key outcome measure of health) as experienced by blind and partially sighted people across the UK. Outlooks explores the ways in which people manage their daily life activities and interactions with society, and the relationship between the ability to do a particular activity and the impact that being able to carry out the activity would have on their quality of life.

The findings are based on the experiences of nearly 500 blind and partially sighted individuals. High areas of unmet need include home life, social life, and travel, and will be explored in greater depth during the session, along with the factors which enable people to have a good quality of life including technology.

The session will begin with a presentation of the key findings delivered by RNIB’s Research Team followed by a discussion on how the sector can come together to address some of the unmet needs experienced by blind and partially sighted people.
