This one-hour session will focus on how a claim for Pension Credits is assessed; applicable amounts, income and capital. We look at the rules for mixed aged couples and when a claim for Pension Credits can still be made.

Pension credit is the commonly used name for state pension credit and is a means tested benefit for people over state pension age on a low income. Given the current cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever that people claim the benefits to which they are entitled. Despite this, there are still many people who could claim Pension Credits but haven’t. The most recent DWP figures show that over a million pensioner households are missing out on pension credit – around 2 in 5 (39%) of those who are entitled to receive it.
