Amanda Hawkins (Strategic Lead for Mental Health and Counselling) and Lisa Cowley (CEO of Beacon Vision), will be talking through the opportunity and experience of developing a counselling offer as part of your organisation.
Amanda will start by introducing and explaining the RNIB Counselling for Sight Loss Course that offers free training for qualified counsellors. Amanda will describe how the course equips generic counsellors to work with the issues presented with adapting to sight loss and how then the counsellors can apply for a sight loss accreditation.
Lisa has just been through this process and will talk about how she was able to work with local counsellors, train, fund and integrate counselling support into Beacon Vision.
