As our charity continues to grow and evolve, we are looking for a Treasurer Trustee to join our Board and help with the financial stability and growth of our organisation.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with financial experience to play a key role within a well-established local charity making a real difference across Oxfordshire.

As Treasurer Trustee, you will work closely with the Chair, CEO, Finance Officer, and fellow trustees to oversee our financial health, sustainability, and governance.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Monitoring financial standing, cashflow forecasting, income streams, and expenditure.
  • Supporting budgeting and strategic financial planning, including scenario thinking and constructive challenge.
  • Ensuring high quality management reporting and appropriate financial controls.
  • Leading/ overseeing statutory financial reporting and supporting approval of annual report and accounts.
  • Supporting reserves policy oversight and keeping the Board informed of reserves position.
  • Chairing the quarterly Finance Committee and reporting to the full Board.
  • Acting as a counter signatory where required (e.g., funding applications).
  • Working closely with the Finance Officer to prepare the annual accounts for submission to the Charity Commission and Companies House.

You do not need previous trustee experience, but you should bring strong financial knowledge and the ability to provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge.

  • Risk management.
  • Business or commercial finance.
  • Audit or compliance.
