Position – Strategic Partnerships Manager Greater Manchester

This role is responsible for growing sustainable income that supports Henshaws Sight Loss Services across Greater Manchester. It is suited to an experienced business development or income generation professional who enjoys building relationships, developing opportunities and turning ideas into funded services.
You will identify and develop NHS and Local Authority commissioning opportunities, alongside corporate partnerships and strategic collaborations. Working closely with operational colleagues, you will help shape service models, write proposals and support the delivery of funded work.
Through strong partnerships and reliable income, this role helps Henshaws reach more people with sight loss and strengthen local services.

Closing Date: 15 May 2026 at 12 noon

Requirements

  • You will have experience in business development, sales or income generation within a target driven environment, including preparing bids, tenders or commercial proposals.
  • You will be confident building relationships with senior stakeholders, managing a structured pipeline and balancing multiple priorities. Strong communication, organisation and resilience are essential, along with a flexible approach to working hours and travel.
  • Experience within a charity, VCSE, health or education setting, or working with the NHS or Local Authorities, is desirable but not essential. An understanding of public sector commissioning, or willingness to learn, is welcomed.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check including the child barring list. Henshaws is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and will make reasonable adjustments where required.
Our Values
  • Ambition means actively seeking new opportunities, building a strong pipeline and delivering income that enables Henshaws to do more for people living with sight loss.
  • Respect is shown through acting with integrity, valuing different perspectives and building trusted relationships with commissioners, partners and colleagues.
  • Empowerment comes from working collaboratively so that services are shaped together and funding enables people to live independent and fulfilling lives.
