This document outlines the strategic focus of the NHS and provides tangible examples that have happened since the pathways launch. Please use this to start a new conversation with the NHS.’
Regional examples, such as West Yorkshire’s Cataract SPoA and Humber & North Yorkshire ICB’s formal commitment to the pathway, show how these principles can be successfully applied. The document also aligns the pathway with national priorities i.e. NHS 10-Year Plan for Eye Care, helping to ensure the pathways relevance and value to the statutory sector. By adopting, integrating, and implementing the pathway, the NHS can ensure a fully integrated and systemic approach to patient care and support.
