Head of Enablement (Sight Loss Support Team)

Henshaws is looking for an experienced and people-focused manager to lead the Enablement element of our Sight Loss Support Team. This is one of three specialist service areas within our community-based services, alongside Children and Young People (CYP) and First Steps.
Our Enablement team provides skills training, digital support, counselling and community hub activities, helping people with sight loss build confidence and live more independently. Last year across Greater Manchester and Merseyside we supported over 3,700 people, including 1,100 new service users.
In this role you will:
• Lead and support the Enablement and Digital Enablement teams
• Oversee service delivery, safeguarding and quality standards
• Manage budgets, contracts and reporting requirements
• Build strong partnerships with commissioners, funders and community organisations
• Work closely with the Heads of CYP and First Steps as part of the Sight Loss Support leadership team
We are offering:
• Salary £40,442.48 per year (£21.02 per hour)
• 37 hours per week, permanent contract
• 5 weeks’ annual leave plus 10 bank holidays
• Hybrid working with a Manchester base and regional travel
You will bring proven team leadership, financial management and experience of developing services or partnerships within health, social care or the voluntary sector. Experience of NHS or local authority commissioned services, knowledge of health and social care funding, or digital service development would be an advantage.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check (child and adult barring lists) and the ability to travel across the region.
