RNIB Scotland has officially reopened its Edinburgh community hub
RNIB Scotland has officially reopened its community hub on Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh, following extensive refurbishment. The modern, fully accessible space is designed for blind and partially sighted people, as well as volunteers, supporters, and staff.
The hub features Café VI, open to both the blind and partially sighted community and the wider public, a Product and Advice store offering accessible aids and equipment, and a flexible community space for social, leisure, and peer-support groups. These facilities aim to foster independence, inclusion, and connection.
The launch event on August 14 was attended by community members, staff, and supporters. Kirin Saeed, Chair of the RNIB Scotland Advisory Group, cut the ribbon alongside Sarah Boyack MSP, highlighting the importance of creating spaces that bring people together. The event also honoured the late Sandra Wilson, former Chair of RNIB Scotland, with the naming of the Sandra Wilson Boardroom.
Café VI and the community hub, located at 12–14 Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh, are open Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm, and welcomes all visitors.
