Sightline is delighted to welcome Carl Hodge as he joins the charity as their new Chief Executive.

Carl officially took over the role on 1 August, succeeding Ian Edwards, who has made a significant impact during his time with the charity.

Carl brings a wealth of experience to Sightline, having served as Chief Executive at both Sight Advice South Lakes and Vision Support Barrow & District. His journey into the sight loss sector began after a 20-year career as an aircraft engineer in the Royal Air Force, and he has since dedicated himself to supporting visually impaired communities across the region.

Carl shared:

“I’m excited to be joining Sightline and working closely with Andrea and Becky, as well as our supportive Board of Trustees. Together, we’ll continue to champion the volunteers and service users who are the heart of our charity.”

Carl adds: “I’ve always had a strong working relationship with Galloways and look forward to building on that. On a personal note, my partner Francesa is visually impaired, and I enjoy rock climbing, cycling, running, and photography in my spare time.”

Sightline is pleased to have Carl on board and look forward to the next chapter of the charity’s journey under his leadership.

Carl says: “Beginning my new role is exciting for me, as I already know about the wonderful service that is provided by the Sightline, and I would like to contribute to its success.”
