Cheshire Sight Loss Information Line – Supporting Independence and Wellbeing
The Cheshire Sight Loss Information Line is a National Lottery funded project in partnership with Vision Support, East Cheshire Eye Society, Cheshire West & Chester Council, Cheshire East Council and the NHS. Our mission is simple but powerful: to support individuals living with sight loss to live more independently, confidently, and well.
Whether someone has recently been diagnosed or has been living with a vision impairment for some time, our dedicated team is here to offer practical help, emotional support, and expert guidance every step of the way.

In 2024, we proudly supported 461 individuals with vision impairments, offering meaningful assistance tailored to each person’s needs. Over 83% of our service users reported an overall improvement in their wellbeing, and 71% said they felt more independent after receiving our support.
Upcoming Events
We’re excited to be part of Storyhouse’s Kaleidoscope Festival in Chester on Wednesday, 9th July – a vibrant celebration of the talents within Chester’s learning-disabled community.
We’ve also launched a major pop-up information campaign, appearing in libraries across Chester West to bring our charity and support closer to you. All event information can be found in the Event Calendar on the Vision Support website.
In addition, we’re building valuable partnerships with the University of Chester and local colleges to further extend our reach.
Our New Resource Centre
We’re transforming our office at the Bluecoat in Chester into a welcoming public resource centre. Here, you’ll be able to book an appointment for one-to-one support and advice and:
- Try out the latest assistive technology.
- Order equipment tailored to your needs, alongside our expert advice and guidance.
Stay tuned for updates as we bring this new space to life – making it easier than ever for you to access the support and tools you need.
