This exciting opportunity sits within our Policy and Campaigns team and will support our work to change society, ensuring sight loss is not a barrier to living life to the full.  You will play a key role within our friendly, high-achieving Regional Campaigns team, who are unique within the sector and who lead on the local delivery of RNIB’s campaign priorities.  We support blind and partially sighted people to tackle issues in their local areas as well as building our network of campaign supporters and volunteers.  The team has a proven track-record in positively influencing decision makers such as local authorities and NHS Trusts. 

You’ll be responsible for the recruitment, training and on-going management of campaign volunteers, empowering them to develop and lead local campaigns.  You’ll grow campaigning capacity across the South East and build wider support for RNIB’s work.  You’ll work with colleagues in the central Policy and Campaigns team to feed regional insight into RNIB campaign activity. 

You’ll be a highly effective team player and influencer, able to work alongside local politicians and other stakeholders such as local authorities, health and social care bodies and voluntary sector partners.   

You’ll have experience of campaigning to secure change in policy and practice and be able to work with and support individuals and groups of campaigners.  You’ll have an appreciation of the issues affecting blind and partially sighted people, and you’ll be a team player, able to work collaboratively and build rapport with a range of internal and external stakeholders.    

This role can be worked from home, there will be some occasions where you may have to travel for meetings.
