RNIB’s Turned Out report into the voting experiences of blind and partially sighted people is now available.

The report found that only one in five (19 per cent) of blind voters and less than half (46 per cent) of partially sighted voters can vote independently and in secret under the current voting system.

In the May local elections, an accessible voting trial was held in Norfolk that allowed blind and partially sighted voters to use audio devices at the polling station. RNIB is now calling for these devices to be rolled out nationwide for May 2022.
