Lorraine rejoins the charitable sector after 20 years, after dipping her toes into the public sector for 2 years.

"I am so delighted to return home to the charity sector and my role as CEO with Vision Northumberland. I have previously worked with Guide Dogs where as Regional Operation’s Manager and subject matter expert for children’s services I also managed teams of Habilitation, Mobility, Family and Education Support Specialists.

Vision Northumberland is based in Morpeth in the beautiful county of Northumberland and where I am also lucky to live, having moved here some 20 years ago from Sunderland, where I raised my two beautiful girls who are now married and live close by.

This is my fourth week in the role, and I foresee the forthcoming weeks and months as a time of excitement, of forging partnerships, sharing my own knowledge, and gaining insights via this platform and from local organisations towards attainment of good practice to benefit our beneficiaries. My aim is to create access to innovative services and technology and address the imbalance of restricted opportunities of those who suffer from visual impairment more so in rural areas.

I look forward to meeting with you in the near future."
