RNIB is supporting the Covid-19 Inquiry’s “Every Story Matters” programme to ensure that everyone has a chance to share their experience of the pandemic.

The majority of information is expected to come to the Inquiry via the online form on their website Every Story Matters – UK Covid-19 Inquiry (covid19.public-inquiry.uk).

However, we know that digital exclusion may prevent some people from accessing the website and blind and partially sighted people are more likely to face this barrier. It’s vital that everyone has the chance to tell their story, which will form part of the public record and be used to shape the Inquiry’s recommendations to learn lessons for the future.

There is an easy read version of the Every Story Matters form available here or other alternative formats are available by emailing contact@covid19.public-inquiry.uk or by post at: FREEPOST, UK Covid-19 Inquiry.

RNIB is assisting people who are unable to complete the online form due to digital exclusion and sight loss. Other organisations will be taking part in this project and callers who are not experiencing sight loss will be signposted to the Inquiry’s website if they are able to complete the form themselves, or to Age UK or Mencap, as appropriate.

Any customers who would like to access this support should contact RNIB’s Helpline and select option 3. They’ll be put through to an adviser who will take their name and number and arrange for someone to call them back to complete the Inquiry form and capture their experiences.

RNIB’s Helpline can be contacted on 0303 123 9999 from Monday to Friday between 8am – 8pm and between 9am – 1pm on Saturday.

The project started on 4 March and is expected to continue for three months.
