Call for nominations for the Visionary Annual Awards 2020
The Visionary Annual Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the impactful services delivered by sight loss charities and the positive difference you make to the lives of blind and partially sighted people. Highlighting the achievements of local charities helps share good practice across the sector and draws attention to the talent, expertise and impact of the local sight loss sector. The awards are open to Visionary members and some are open to our national partners. You can nominate your own organisation or another that you believe deserves recognition by completing this short nomination form by 2 November, 12pm midday.
Prizes
All Visionary members and partners will have the opportunity to vote for their winners who will be announced at the Visionary Annual Conference on Friday 20 November. Winners will each receive £500, a trophy and branded electronic PR resources.
Award categories
The four award categories are as follows:
Connect award
For this award, we want to hear about how you have connected with others to implement an initiative or service that has strengthened or created new on the ground local provision for blind and partially sighted people. This could be an example of where you have worked successfully with another member, your local authority, a statutory or other provider or with a national sight loss organisation. Applications are welcome from all members or from our national partners where they have worked in partnership to improve local service provision.
Develop award
For this award we want to hear about a service or initiative your organisation has developed that has benefited visually impaired people locally. This could include where your organisation has developed its’ services in response to COVID-19. This award is open to Visionary members only and we want to hear about innovative and creative examples that will inspire others.
Share award
Throughout the past year, our members have consistently shared their knowledge, time and expertise with us and the entire Visionary network. Through this award we want to recognise this. This award is open to Visionary members only and we want to see nominations from or for organisations who have been open and generous; sharing knowledge, challenges, their staff and practical information and examples of what has worked for them.
National partner award
For this award we want to hear about national organisations who have demonstrated a commitment to make a difference to blind and partially sighted people locally. It may be an example of a national or more locally focussed campaign, project or initiative that has had a positive impact on the lives of blind and partially sighted people, facilitated additional support or has made a significant difference to a local organisation. This award is open to any organisations with a UK-wide remit that is a Visionary National Partner. National partners can nominate themselves, and nominations are also welcome from Visionary members wishing to highlight positive work by national organisations in their local areas.
