To the many friends and colleagues in the voluntary, health and social care sectors that I have had the pleasure of working with during my time at YBPSS, I write to tell you that I will soon be retiring from my role as Chief Officer. As my 61st birthday is just around the corner, I have decided that I would like to achieve a better work life balance, so I will be retiring on 12 September 2017.

I started working for YBPSS 27 years ago, and have had the enormous pleasure of seeing it grow from being a small voluntary organisation, to a flourishing and vibrant user led CIO with 1100 members.  Over 100 volunteers and a team of dedicated and professional staff and trustees deliver a great range of client centred services and you have all played a part in that growth and development in some way. YBPSS and me are personally richer for knowing you, and I hope you will continue to support YBPSS in the future.

I would be delighted if you would come and celebrate my 27 years at YBPSS, at our AGM on Tuesday afternoon 12 September – if you all come it will be a great networking opportunity!  More details will follow shortly.

If you are not able to come – I hope we may bump into each other some-time in the future.  I am confident that my desire to make the world a better place for blind and partially sighted people will not diminish, so if you want to contact me outside of YBPSS, my email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. I wish you and your organisations all the very best for the future.

Yours sincerely

Diane
