Rehabilitation Worker - Kent Association for the Blind
Salary Range: Unqualified - £18,842 - £20,669 Qualified/Part Qualified - £22,033 - £26,952
Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) is a charity that supports sight impaired people to live independent lives and provides rehabilitation services to visually impaired people across Kent, Medway, Bromley and Bexley. They currently have a full time opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join their Rehabilitation Team based in Dover.
The post involves carrying out statutory assessments of need, providing mobility training and practical rehabilitation programmes, and giving advice, information and support to sight impaired people, their families and professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a client-centred approach and be committed to empowering people to maximise choice and control, and to achieve their individual goals. KAB are seeking someone with experience in rehabilitation for people with sight impairment or a similar background in a health/social care. A qualification in the delivery of orientation and mobility training would be an advantage.

Project Manager – Tameside Sight, Greater Manchester - Closing date Extended Part time post - 23 hrs per week. Salary range £28,000 to £30,000 (FTE for 36 hrs) Tameside Sight is a local charity supporting Blind and Partially Sighted people in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Its Community Support Project has been providing practical support services since it was established 12 years ago. A Project Manager is sought to take over the running of the project from the current manager who will be retiring shortly. The Association has recently won further finance for the project up to January 2016, funded by the National Lottery through the BIG Lottery Fund and the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales. The Project Manager will manage the Project, 3 other staff and volunteers to ensure delivery of services to meet the agreed deliverables and outcomes. He/she will report to the Chair and Trustees and work with them to establish further funding for the future. Good management experience is required and an interest in work in the disability and social care sector is highly desirable. A good local support network exists in Tameside supporting this and similar organisations and excellent working links with related organisations have been built up. The charity maintains contact with over 700 people in Tameside with sight loss and 100 new referrals are received each year.
