South Yorkshire MP David Blunkett is lending his support to the launch of a nationwide photography competition to find pictures that illustrate an amazing partnership.
The competition has been launched by Specsavers in partnership with Pentax Cameras, to raise awareness of Guide Dogs, Specsavers’ national charity partner, and the vital role it plays in matching guide dogs with their owners.
To mark the launch of the competition Specsavers will be donating £1 to Guide Dogs for every eye examination carried out between Monday, 6th September and Sunday 12 September and staff at many of the 650 stores across the UK will be taking part with their own fundraising initiatives.
The competition is open to everyone who wants to showcase an amazing partnership, such as an act of kindness, a helping hand or a sign of encouragement. It can either be between friends, family or even between pets and their owners. Entrants are encouraged to let their imagination run wild and show their creativity to represent their own area at the national exhibition in London.
A total of 10 regional winners will be selected to win a Pentax Digital SLR (KX Digital SLP) camera worth more than £500 and a £150 worth of Specsavers vouchers. Each winner, plus one guest, will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to London to attend the press launch of the Amazing Partnerships exhibition by renowned photographer Adrian Houston, at the Haunch of Venison Gallery, where each winning image will be on display.
To enter the photography competition or book an eye examination between 6 – 12 September, please visit your nearest Specsavers store or email your entry to amazingpartnerships@beattiegroup.com.
